1.Steam-turbine radial-vibration monitoring-The probe screws in from the outside of the casing and looks sideways at the shaft. It gives a continuous 200 mV/mil signal that shows how much the shaft is vibrating. If vibration rises, the 3500/42 monitor alarms or trips the set before bearing or seal damage happens.

2.Axial (thrust) position protection on centrifugal compressors-Mounted opposite the thrust collar, it measures any shift of the rotor toward the compressor or turbine end. A movement larger than the normal float is caught early, so the thrust bearing can be inspected during the next outage instead of failing catastrophically.

3.Keyphasor / speed and phase reference-A once-per-turn slot or keyway creates a sharp voltage pulse. This “Keyphasor” pulse supplies exact speed to the DCS and gives the phase angle needed for field balancing and fault diagnosis, cutting trim-balancing time in half.
