1.Steam-turbine shaft vibration monitoring-The probe mounts flush with the casing wall and watches the shaft’s radial vibration. Any increase in vibration is caught early, so operators can schedule balance or bearing work before the machine trips .

2.Axial thrust-position protection on compressors-Installed looking sideways at a collar on the shaft, it measures how far the rotor moves in the axial direction. If the thrust bearing wears and the shaft drifts toward the seals, the monitor alarms or shuts the unit down to prevent contact damage .

3.Keyphasor / speed reference signal-A once-per-turn notch or keyway generates a sharp voltage pulse. This “Keyphasor” pulse gives the exact speed and provides a timing mark for balancing and vibration phase analysis, making field trim-balances faster and safer
