The 1794-ADN acts as a gateway between a DeviceNet cable and up to eight FLEX I/O modules. It converts 24 V DC field power into the regulated 5 V back-plane supply and handles all DeviceNet explicit & I/O messaging, allowing a PLC scanner to read/write discrete, analog or specialty modules as if they were native DeviceNet nodes. Rotary switches make node-address changes possible without software, and tri-colour LEDs give instant diagnostics on the network and each I/O slot.
